Aquamarine, a member of the beryl family

Aquamarine is a gemstone of the Beryl family, the same as that of emeralds. Chemically it is an aluminium silicate and beryllium. It owes its name to its blue colour, from the Latin “acqua marinae”, which literally means seawater.
Symbol of happiness and eternal youth. Legend says that Neptune decided to give it as a gift to mermaids and marine animals.
